What we store
Staten Deals doesn't ask for your name, email, phone number or a password. When you first open the app we create an anonymous account for your device and keep:
- A random account ID and a session code. The code lives in a cookie on your device; we only store a scrambled (hashed) copy of it.
- Your alerts: what you're searching for, your price limit and discount setting, and the most recent results we found for you. If you turn on Pokémon release alerts, we store which of those alerts you chose. If you track a product link, we store the link, your target price and the prices we've seen on that page.
- Your notification address, if you turn on notifications. This is a technical address issued by your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) so we can deliver alerts. It doesn't identify you by name.
- Basic limits: when you search (to cap searches per hour) and a hashed version of your network address when an account is created (to stop automated sign-ups). We don't store your IP address itself.
How it's used
Only to run your searches and alerts. We don't sell or share your data, we don't run ads in the app, and we don't track you across other sites.
When you search, we look up listings and prices from eBay, Best Buy and TCGplayer price data. Your search words are sent to those services; your account ID is not.
When you open a deal, you leave Staten Deals for the seller's site, and that site's privacy policy applies. Links may include an affiliate code so we earn a commission if you buy; the code identifies Staten Deals, not you.
Where it's kept
On Cloudflare's servers (Cloudflare Workers and D1). Notifications pass through your browser's push service.
Deleting your data
Tap Delete my data at the bottom of the app. It permanently erases your account, alerts and notification addresses right away. Clearing your browser's data for this site also disconnects your device from the account.
Children
Staten Deals isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
